Excerpts from Gurudev’s address

There are crores of lamps that are lit here today – a sign of an auspicious start.

The essence of life is bhakti (devotion). When there is bhakti, life is fulfilling. There are 4 stages that one must live through in life, to invoke and enhance the spirit of bhakti and bliss from within – Kriye, Charye, Yogam and Gyanam.

  • Kriye indicates action, which is part of the Karma Kand, our routine activities. We perform puja, decorate with flowers etc. to enhance the positive vibes, to bring a happy environment.
  • Charye is got to do with having a good demeanor, good thoughts and right emotions that define your nature as a person. One must be good to themselves and also to those around.
  • Yogam is indicative of all yogic practices: Pranayam, Dhyan (Meditation), Yoga, that help uplift one’s holistic health and enthusiasm.
  • Above all is Gyanam, Knowledge – the contemplation on the Self, which brings forth the purest consciousness within us, the Divine Self – the Brahma tattva which is filled with love and Wisdom.

When steeped in the knowledge of the Self, one can even dance upon the fangs of time irrespective of their situation in life, similar to how Lord Krishna danced upon the hoods of the snake and how Lord Shiva adorns the snake around his neck. It typically indicates the command over time. With such wisdom, one must keep moving forward in life, discarding all events and impressions of the past.

From a yogic viewpoint, when the snake of kundalini rises, it indicates the awakening of the Self, wherein all troubles vanish, wisdom gets well established and luck and joy flourishes in life.

Our consciousness within is renewed every day. It is eternal, beautiful and divine. When we realize this experientially, life becomes blissful. Share on X

When our intellect, representative of the divine mother is in union with the Self, all auspiciousness dawns in life.

Lord Buddha has also said, ‘Be light unto yourself’, like the lamps that are glowing here now.
