In a unique initiative designed by Gurudev and supported by the state government, a month-long workshop at the Art of Living Foundation’s Bangalore headquarters resulted in the reformation of 241 Assamese militants.
Workshop participants, who underwent an intense yoga and meditation detoxification program, termed their experience as the commencement of “a second life.” Workshop modules included social responsibility, leadership training, self-awareness exercises, and advancement of cultural awareness.
In follow-up, Gurudev met with President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, on August 16, 2012, to discuss plausible solutions to prevent the recurrence of unrest in Assam.
