The light in our heart is called Ram. This day of \u2018Ram Navami\u2019 celebrates the birth of this Divine inner light.<\/li>\n<li>Lord Rama was born to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dasharatha\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">King Dashrath<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kausalya\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\">Queen Kaushalya<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><em>Kaushalya<\/em> means skill, and <em>Dashrath<\/em> means one who has ten chariots. Our body has ten organs \u2013 <em>Panch Jnanendriya<\/em> (referring to the five senses) and <em>Panch karmendriya<\/em> (referring to the five senses associated with action, that is the two hands, two legs, the genitals, the excretory organ and the mouth).<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sumitra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\"><em>Sumitra<\/em><\/a> means the one who is friendly with everybody.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kaikeyi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\"><em>Kaikeyi<\/em><\/a> means one who is always giving selflessly to everyone.<\/li>\n<li><em>Ram<\/em> means inner light, and <em>Lakshmana<\/em> (Lord Rama\u2019s younger brother) means awareness. <em>Shatrughana<\/em> (son of Sumitra and twin brother was Lakshmana) means one who has no enemies, or one who faces no opposition. <em>Bharat<\/em> (son of Kaikeyi) means the talented one.<\/li>\n<li>Ayodhya (Lord Rama\u2019s place of birth) is one which should not be destroyed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>The essence of the story is this: Our body is Ayodhya, the king of our body is the five sense organs and the five organs of action. The queen of the body is skill (Kaushalya). All our senses are usually outwards, with the use of skill we bring those inwards, and that is when the divine eternal light, which is Lord Rama, dawns within us.<\/p>\n<p>When the mind (Sita) was kidnapped by ego (Ravana), then both the divine light together with the awareness (Lakshmana) brought her back home, on the shoulders of Lord Hanuman (signifying Prana).
